Lake of the Ozarks Train Club was born September of 2015. The members all come from their individual backgrounds. The love of model railroading has brought them all together for one common interest. Everyone is welcome to join. Along with several retirement age military veterans, we have all ages, from 11 years old to the mid 70's. There are also women and girls and teenagers who are club members. Lake of the Ozarks Train Club is a family oriented group, who prides themselves on teaching others who are just getting started in model railroading, or helping others and answering questions if someone is having problems with their layout. Throughout the years, working through various layout problems, the club members, even though they are diversified in backgrounds, have become one big happy family.
Lake of the Ozarks Train Club began from a small model train show with only a few vendors. Once they were organized and decided which direction to go, there were two priorities. Building a layout was their number one prioity. The other priority was hosting another train show. Since then, it has grown to a larger location with lots more vendors. It has always been a fun family event, including vendors who sell their train related items, working layouts that are demonstrated throughout the day of the event. Sometimes there are complete layouts for sale. Food is available at the show, plus there is a raffle prize with a drawing at the end of the day. For more information on visiting or becoming a vendor at our train show, please contact Family Train Center. Be sure and look at our News and Events catagory for details on our up and coming train show October 23rd, 9a.m.-3p.m.
We invite you to stop in Family Train Center during business hours, Tuesday-Saturday, 10-5 to see our work in progress layout.
2020 was a bad year for so many people in many different ways. We had to cancel both our spring and fall show, but were able to have our spring show.
Here are some scenes from our spring 2021 Lake of the Ozarks Train Club Train Show. It was well received by vendors and shoppers as well. Masks were not required, but, we left it up to the individual as to if they wanted to wear one or not. The food has always been a big hit with our vendors and shoppers. It's always all home made from scratch. We had 3 people sign up to find out more about how to be a club member. We are currently accepting new members. If you are local and think you might like to get more information on becoming a club member, please go to our Lake of the Ozarks face book page and ask any questions you may have. Also, below are 2 pictures of our new location. Community Christian Church, 1064 N. business rt. 5, Camdenton, Missoouri. Due to out growing our past location, we have moved here. We had a record of 90 tables! Thank you for checking out our club page!
